About Sara Blanco
Dr. Sara Blanco is a researcher in ethics of AI at the University of Tübingen, Germany. She studied Philosophy at the University of Valladolid, Spain, where she was born and raised, before completing a Research Master in Analytic Philosophy at KU Leuven, Belgium. In her doctoral research, she investigated the concept of trust in AI and its relation to other forms of trust, such as interpersonal and institutional trust, as well as related notions like reliance. She argues that trust is a relational concept involving moral responsibility—a perspective that extends to AI systems. By combining theoretical reflections on trust with its application to AI, her work offers a novel perspective on both trust in AI and moral responsibility.
